One of the most convenient Jeep accessories to have when camping or out on the trail is a tailgate table. A tailgate table provides space for tailgating, preparing meals, and anything else that requires a large flat surface to work on while eliminating the need to bring a stand-alone table with you.
The Outback Adventures Trailgater JL/JLU table is one of the more premium options on the market. Although it has a high price tag, its high-end materials and construction make it an excellent choice. Some tailgate table options bolt to the existing factory tailgate trim, but since the Trailgater replaces the interior trim it does not reduce your cargo capacity as much as other options. Installation and Construction
The Trailgater table simply bolts into existing holes in the tailgate and does not require any modifications to the tailgate. It includes a convenient cutout for the backup camera and 3rd brake light wires. It also incorporates a secure retention system that keeps the table rattle-free when it is folded closed. The custom made 303 stainless steel quick release pins make deploying the table a breeze.
Large stainless steel work area
The fold down table area is constructed of 14 gauge food-grade 304 stainless steel, making it a perfect spot to prepare meals. Since it is food grade, foods can be placed directly on the table. It is also easy to clean, making it a great surface to use for raw meat or any trail-side repairs. I recommend using an antibacterial degreaser and a cleaning agent like Barkeepers Friend to remove any stubborn marks from foods or oils. The 40lb load capacity means it can support enough weight for almost any task you may use it for. Outback Adventures has recently started offering multiple powdercoat color options for the aluminum backsplash area as well.
Removable bamboo cutting board
The bamboo cutting board is a great addition to the Trailgater table. I love the way it looks both when folded up and deployed, and it is the perfect surface to prep vegetables on when cooking a meal. When the table is folded down the cutting board simply slides out to the left or right. It can be extended almost all the way while still being supported by the table itself – effectively doubling your useable surface area. Being removable means it’s easy to take inside and clean in your kitchen sink or rinse off under any water source.

The Outback Adventures Trailgater tailgate table is a great addition to any Jeep JL or JLU. Having a large, flat surface is critical for food prep, trail-side repairs, and other overlanding tasks.
